Scaffolding Vs. Ladders
Anyone who has owned their home for almost any amount of time can tell that sooner or later you will need to invest in scaffolding, ladders, or a combination of both for many Do It Yourself home projects. Replacing rotten boards, installing new fixtures, or even simple repainting will require you to work on many parts of your house you can’t reach standing on the floor alone. A ladder can give you a quick boost up but will not provide much room for tools and other things you need handy while working. Let’s face it, some special situations call for scaffolding rather than a ladder.
What’s the Difference?
Scaffolding allows you to build a temporary platform high above the ground and can span a wide distance so that bigger areas can be covered by setting up the scaffolding one time. A ladder would have a much smaller work area and require the user continual hassle of moving the ladder down the work area more times as it becomes out of reach.
Speeding up the work by allowing more than worker on the platform at one time scaffolding widely used in construction. Scaffold is especially useful when you need an abundant amount of material or tools to do the job. Consider a Bricklayer; he can stockpile the brick, mortar, and his tools on the scaffolding in advance so he makes fewer trips up and down saving both time and energy. A painter can keep the entire bucket of paint at his side on the platform for easy access rather than making a trip down each time he runs out.
- Scaffolding is flexible and expandable for a wider variety of jobs and projects.
- Many times scaffolding can be stacked to reach even higher and yet remain on a sturdy platform.
- Provides a safe place for tools and materials.
- Many times Scaffolding can be safer than using a ladder.
Mini Scaffolding?
Many times a full set of construction scaffolding can be both overkill for most household projects and be quite expensive for the average homeowner so many homeowners rely on smaller form of scaffolding or even Mini Scaffolding. This scaffolding, as sold by Homier, is smaller and easier to move around the house as it sits on casters and easily fits through doorways.
